IHMA Award Nomination

Nominations for Excellence in Holography Awards 2020 are now open.

The IHMA Excellence in Holography Awards 2020 are going online. To nominate a project, please complete the details below and submit together with supporting files (images, presentations, videos). The deadline for nominations is 27 October 2023. The winners will be announced and the awards presented during The Holography Conference Online on 9 December.

For queries, please contact Annette Adkins at the IHMA Secretariat – [email protected]

People or organisations involved in a hologram project may apply for an award.

Others may nominate holographic projects for an award as long as you can give details of the user or producer of the hologram.

Only holograms first produced commercially or holographic processes or techniques developed after 1 August 2019 are eligible for the 2020 Awards.

Categories

There are five awards open for nominations. Organisations are entitled to submit up to two nominations per category.

Innovation in Holographic Technology

This is the category for inventions, innovations and developments in the way that holograms are made or applied. Any new development in holographic production materials, production equipment, origination methods, production and application methods or viewing and display should be nominated or applied for in this category.

Best Origination

This is the category that covers the design and quality of holograms, including surface relief and display holograms. Whether the hologram is for a client or not, a standalone hologram or integrated in to another product, this is the category that will cover the aesthetics and quality of the hologram.

Best Display or Emerging Technology Application of Holography

This is the category for the best display hologram, use of holographic optical elements (HOEs), for example in display screens, projectors, lighting, communications, instrumentation or other emerging technology applications where holography has been used and applied.

Best Applied Security Product

This category is intended for actual products or projects where a hologram is used on its own or in another item (such as a document, banknote or product pack) as an authentication or security feature. Part of the assessment of projects in this category will be how well the hologram is used to serve the purpose and (if appropriate) how well it is integrated in to the product, so the product should be submitted with the application, or if this is not possible, a storyboard or other explanatory description should be provided.

Best Applied Decorative/Packaging Product

This category is intended for an actual product or project where a hologram or holographic material is used for decoration, illustration or promotion.

Part of the assessment of projects in this category will be how well the hologram is used to serve the purpose and (if appropriate) how well it is integrated in to the product or project, so the product should be submitted with the application, or if this is not possible, a storyboard or other explanatory description should be provided.
